Campus Highlights
Ohio Wesleyan enrolls about 1,850, representing 43 states and 47
countries. The student body is 51% female, 49% male. The University
is strongly committed to racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity,
enrollment consisting of 8% U.S. students of color and 10% international
students.
The new science buildings house scanning electron microscope and
scanning and transmission electron microscopes. The science center
also includes its own green house. OWU also has two observatories.
Gray Chapel in University Hall houses the impressive 4,500-pipe
organ. OWU also is known for the Woltemade Center for Economics,
Business, and Entrepreneurship and its Geographic Information Systems
(GIS) computer laboratory. The Fine Art department has a prominent
regional gallery and newly renovated studios.
Ohio Wesleyan owns the Strand movie theater (http://www.thestrandtheatre.net/modules/news/),
located a few blocks from campus in the city of Delaware.
Community and Volunteer Opportunities
During spring break, Waseda students can join Spring Mission Trips
where they build houses in poor communities of the U.S. and around
the world.
OWU actively recruits students who are engaged in their own education,
community, and the world around them. With over 85 clubs and student
organizations (http://service.owu.edu/),
there are countless opportunities for students to become involved
in the leadership of an organization.
Off-campus Study Opportunities
Waseda students are eligible to apply for the spring semester New
York Arts program (http://www.newyorkartsprogram.org/). Students
live in New York City and work in apprenticeships with artists in
the visual arts, performing arts, and the literary, publishing,
film, and communication arts. The program requires excellent English-language
skills and extensive experience in the arts.
Waseda students are eligible to apply for internships through
OWU’S Woltemade Center for Economics and Business

Ohio Wesleyan is located 20 minutes north of Columbus in the
city of Delaware, Ohio, a vibrant community of 26,000 and seat of
one of the fastest-growing counties in the country.
