Campus Highlights
St. Olaf College offers over 40 academic majors, 20 teaching majors, and many other concentrations and areas of emphasis. (A concentration is equivalent to a minor; basically, it is an area of study that a student has decided to concentrate on either within a major or outside of it.) St. Olaf College is a rigorous academic institution with a small town feel. A college of 3,000 students and 315 faculty members, we are able to keep our student/faculty ratio at 12:1 (not all faculty are full-time), and the average class size hovers around 22.

Surrounding area
St. Olaf College, set on a hill fondly known as Manitou Heights, is located 40 miles south of Minneapolis/St. Paul in Northfield, MN. While this town of 17,000 promises "Cows, Colleges, and Contentment" on the sign as you enter the city, students at St. Olaf also will find coffee shops, ethnic restaurants, a movie theater, and a bowling alley. Not to mention a Target where you can pick up anything that you forgot to pack from home!

St. Olaf Mission Statement
